The Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre (UCRDC) is a community institution which collects, catalogues, and preserves material documenting the history, culture and contributions of Ukrainians throughout the world.

UCRDC produces documentary films, prepares educational materials, and sponsors lectures, conferences and exhibits on various topics related to Ukrainian issues.

UCRDC is a non-profit organization which seeks community support through various fundraising activities.

The Centre functions as a resource centre which holds oral histories in audio and video formats,  many digitized; and textual and photographic records. Most of these collections have been catalogued.

Introduction

The objectives of the UCRDC are:

  1. to promote interest in the study and research of Ukrainian history and Ukrainian Canadians;

  2. to collect, assemble, catalogue, and preserve information, documents, books, articles, films, audio and video tapes and other materials dealing with the history of Ukrainians and Ukrainian Canadians;

  3. to establish and maintain a collection of research information, documents, books, articles, films, audio and video tapes and other materials dealing with Ukrainian history throughout the world;

  4. to acquire and preserve donations, collectibles and relevant gifts;

  5. to support community projects and research activities by arranging seminars, conferences, lectures and exhibits;

  6. to support the educational activities of other organizations by preparing material for teaching about the history of Ukrainians and Ukrainian Canadians; and

  7. to liaise with relevant organizations and agencies such as the Archival Association of Ontario, National Archives, Canadian Council of Archives and others which support the Mission and objectives of the UCRDC.


The UCRDC is a member organization of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and its Toronto Branch.
