Zheky v Gulagu

Mr. Yakiv Krekhovetsky has donated the painting – Zheky v Gulagu by Opanas Zalyvakha – to the UCRDC. The artist (1925-2007) was born in Kharkiv oblast and was a member of the Shestydysyatnyky dissident movement. He was arrested in 1965 and served 5 years in a Mordovian labour camp. The UCRDC is very grateful to Mr. Krekhovetsky for this gift, which has both artistic and documentary value.
